5 Steps To Prevent Heart Disease (453 Words)
“The leading cause of death in United States of America is heart disease”. It is alarming news. But following this alarming news is good news the risk of cardiovascular diseases can be significantly reduced by adopting healthy habits of exercise and diet. Don’t you think that it’s a real eye-opener as out of those vast numbers who are at risk of heart disease; most of these diseases can be prevented with some simple lifestyle changes
Step # 1
The first step in preventing the heart related diseases is by eating healthy diets. The elimination of saturated fats and trans fats is critical for maintaining the healthy levels of cholesterol. These fats are responsible for increasing the total cholesterol levels by specifically increasing the levels of LDL also termed bad cholesterols. Switching to polyunsaturated fats and mono saturated fats lowers down the overall level of cholesterol and increases the levels of HDL. This switch can be easily done by replacing olive oil and vegetable oil.
Step # 2
The second step in preventing heart disease is quitting smoking and the use of other tobacco products. This is specifically true for those women who are taking birth control pills. The arteries are narrowed down because of smoking. This narrowing down of arteries puts an additional stress on heart. But the good thing is the moment the person stops smoking the body recovers immediately. Though the disaster done by smoking can’t be reversed still the body has the wonderful ability to beat the cruelties of smoking.
Step # 3
The third step is the incorporation of physical activities into our daily lives. Getting and maintaining active lifestyle constructs a healthy and the strong heart. A healthy and strong heart is able to pump blood efficiently throughout the body. This also reduces the stress on the heart. Reduced stress on the heart ensures a healthy heart.
Step # 4
Keep a close eye on your weight. This is true that we cannot be like supermodels. But maintaining a healthy weight is essential for the healthier body. Many weight loss tips can be adopted for this. One choice is to reduce the calorie intake, the other is to start exercising, and still other is to have some supplement designed to lose weight. Getting enough sleep is also good to loose weight.
Step # 5
The fifth and the last step to have the healthy heart is having the regular examination. To stay on the top of heart related diseases to win the battle against them the best is to go for the regular examination of heart.
Summing-up! Prevention is the best cure. Staying forward in the game is the ideal way to strike off the heart diseases.

An Overview Of Heart Disease
Filed Under heart disease | Comments Off
Heart disease is a very generic term that specifically refers to a diseased condition of the heart like heart failure, congenital heart disease, coronary heart disease, heart infections, dysfunctioning of the heart valves and heart arrhythmias. It is estimated that in a total population of a country, one in four people are affected with some kind of heart disease. Heart disease is the number one killer disease in the USA.
Whatever the type of Heart Disease, the primary risk factors for developing heart disease are smoking, hypertension, sedentary lifestyle, diabetes, genetic predisposition, menopause, obesity and hereditary. High levels of inflammation related substances, amino acids and homocysteine also pose an increased risk to develop a heart attack. This is due to these substances containing fibrinogen and C-reactive protein that facilitate increased chances of developing heart disorders.
The different types of heart disease are followed by different symptoms, though there are some common symptoms for a number of heart problems. These symptoms vary dependant on the type and severity of the heart disease. It is very crucial to recognize these symptoms and get timely help from the doctors to avoid the condition becoming too severe or frequent. Some of the common symptoms of heart disease are shortness of breath, palpitations, feeling of weakness or dizziness, increased rate of heartbeats, sweating, nausea, irregular heartbeats, heartburn, etc. However, some people face heart attacks without showing any symptoms. Such type of heart attack is referred as a “Silent MI”. It may occur among all people; however it is more frequent in diabetic patients.
Heart Disease Prevention:
We can follow some steps in order to lower the risk of heart attacks and heart diseases. An overall healthy diet is the best way to lower the risks of heart disease. You should include lots of fruits and vegetables in your diet, cut down the amounts of salt, cholesterol and saturated fats to lower these risks. Exercise regularly for at least half an hour by engaging yourself in some sort of moderate level of physical activities. More importantly avoiding tobacco and alcohol is critical. These substances increase the chances of heart attack, blood pressure, and stroke.
As we all are aware of the fact that “Prevention is better than Cure”, it is better to follow the preventive measures before. Always remember whatever actions you do today; delay, prevent, minimize or worsen the effects of heart disease. The basic idea is to have control over the risk factors leading to serious heart disease. However, all the risk factors cannot be controlled like family history, etc., but you can definitely control your life style and habits like consumption of substances that are responsible for causing a heart attack.

HOW DID YOU LOSE WEIGHT WITH HEART DISEASE?

If you have heart disease how did you lose weight? It’s hard to exercise, because the heart starts over working (not just fast like a normal heart, but beating a little off rhythm and very hard) and makes it difficult & scary.
