mr k asked:

Think about a mid-40 year old with a risk for hypertension and heart disease due to a family history. What advice would you give her/him as far as lifestyle choice?

Walk 45 minutes a day. And avoid foods that raise blood pressure (salty ones) and eat foods that lower blood pressure (those high in potassium). Prefer fish over meat.

Dieting helps lower cholesterol. Eat less animal fat & don’t eat before bed.
